Dunlop AG500 Tour + Multi @ 50 lbs ATW

Dropweight machines are reputed to be extremely accurate and needing no calibrations. So it has to be either the stringjob or the strings!

I re-strung the Dunlop 500 Tour with a fresh set of strings @ 50lbs.

This time, the stringbed came to life! All that familiar, soft, crisp pocketing of a multifilament string came back. The nice 'pop' sound of ball contact is there. It plays very very close to Wilson Sensation NXT strings which I used to prefer.

After more online reading, I found so much more information on stringing techniques. I also realised that the three different types of stringing machines (dropweight, crank and electronic) all require slightly different methods of stringing.

After 2 hours of playtest:
- strings are still crisp feeling
- tension holding is surprising good
- control and spin are still good

After 4 hours:
- notching starting
- strings starts needing adjustment to get back straight
- slight hints of mushy feeling starting in the strings
- control and spin are still good

After 6 hours:
- slightly deeper notching
- strings get crooked after hitting
- mushy feeling still slight

I cut the strings somewhere between 8-10 hours of play and kept a few scraps of string about 24 inches long for an experiment I will post later.....
